Who is the Frackman?

February 25th, 2015

The Frackman is Dayne Pratzky, described on the film’s website as a ‘knockabout pig shooter’ and ‘an accidental activist’ who became involved in the anti-coal seam gas movement because of his personal experiences as a landholder on Queensland’s Darling Downs.

There’s nothing accidental about it – taking his lead from  US film-maker Josh Fox, Pratzky has made it a personal mission to disrupt, protest and demonise an industry that he doesn’t agree with.

Along the way he’s hitched his wagon to Lock the Gate, and has been arrested on several occasions.

Are you for real! He’s been personally affected by CSG and is standing up against a huge industry for something he believes in. Is anyone supposed to think he’s worse than the industry if he’s been arrested for protesting against something that not only poses environmental risks but also assumes the right to exploit the land upon which these people live and farm!? Who’s the criminal here!? Crikey – the gall!

“Pratzky has made it a personal mission to disrupt, protest and demonise an industry that he doesn’t agree with.” Yeah… because of his personal experiences (i.e. being f’d over by the CSG industry) as a landholder in the Darling Downs.
